After the huge success of its inaugural event this past July, with over 1 million people tuning in, UnitedMasters today announces the second SelectCon of 2020 which will stream live on December 9th and 10th.
The two-day virtual conference, presented by CashApp, serves as a significant resource for the current and future generations of independent creators. The conference will focus on forecasting trends for how music, technology, industry and creativity will evolve in 2021 and beyond. As the conversation around independence gets increasingly louder, UnitedMasters is seizing an important opportunity to provide independent artists access to an unprecedented amount of information from industry mavericks - providing the panels, speakers and topics they most want to hear.
In partnership with Twitch, the lineup includes everything from leading entertainment attorneys who will talk through what a good record deal looks like; executives from YouTube, Soundcloud, and Pandora will discuss the future of music curation and playlisting; Leaders at LiveNation, Genius, and Rolling Loud will do a deep dive into the monetization of virtual shows; Splice will be hosting a conversation on collaboration in a pandemic; to artists including UnitedMasters’ breakout star Tobe Nwigwe sitting down to unpack what it is to be an activist and an artist. The full lineup of speakers, panelists, and performers will be announced over the coming days.
“Providing tools and resources for independent artists to operationalize their success is essential to our mission,” said Lauren Wirtzer-Seawood, President of UnitedMasters. “With a 344% increase in artists on our platform since the start of 2020, there is a clear hunger for independence, and UnitedMasters is here to provide the information and platform for artists to find commercial, financial and creative success.”
UnitedMasters has seen tremendous growth in 2020, scoring huge partnerships with brands like ESPN, TikTok, Twitch, CashApp, NBA2k and more. These partnerships provide an unprecedented opportunity for UM artists to be exposed to millions of new fans around the world.
