The Beat Exchange is a marketplace for producers to sell their beats to over 1.5 million independent artists. To help artists find the perfect beat, our in-house editorial team handpicks beats to be featured in curated beat collections and playlists.

Beat collections include groupings of beats with similar characteristics, ranging from instrument to mood to genre, and everything in between. The Beat Exchange also features premium playlists like Credentials and Too Turnt, which house trending beats and staff picks. These highly vetted playlists receive the best placement inside the Beat Exchange, and getting featured will increase your chances of licensing beats to artists. Additionally, beat playlists are promoted regularly on UnitedMasters social media channels to showcase our hottest beats from top producers. Being selected for a playlist means you’ll get more exposure and reach new potential fans.

But how can you increase your chances of getting your beats featured in collections and playlists on the Beat Exchange? Try these three pro tips to maximize your exposure with UnitedMasters artists.

SUBMIT YOUR BEATS FOR EXCLUSIVES

The best way to get your beats added to our premium playlists is to submit them directly for consideration through the Exclusives tab. We regularly feature open calls to submit beats for certain playlists. Find one that fits your music style? Simply submit your beats that best fit the vibe of each playlist and you could be featured.

TAG YOUR BEATS

When publishing a beat for sale on the Beat Exchange, producers have the opportunity to tag beats so they’re easily discovered by artists. Tags are helpful when artists are searching for a particular beat or when they click in to view a beat’s details.

You must select a minimum of three beat tags, with a maximum of seven tags per beat. Tag your beat by artist type, genre, instrument, or mood. Our editorial team reviews the tags for new beat submissions, and then selects top beats to be featured in matching beat collections.

To ensure your beat is featured in beat collections, be sure to accurately tag it when you upload it to the Beat Exchange. Remember, our goal is to help deliver beats to the artists that need them. If our review team doesn’t feel like the tags match your beat, it won’t be featured in a corresponding collection.

PROMOTE YOUR BEATS ON SOCIAL

Another way to increase your chances of being featured in premium playlists is to promote your beats on social media. Additionally, promoting your beats on social will get more eyes on your beats and increase your chances of selling a beat license.

You can do this by visiting your public producer profile and clicking into any beat detail page. Then, grab the link to your beat by clicking the share button in the top right corner. When promoting your beat on social platforms, be sure to use the #BeatExchange hashtag and tag @unitedmasters so our editorial team can find your beat and apply it to the appropriate playlist.
